For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that all who believe in him may not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world may be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged, but he who does not believe has been judged already, since he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment: because the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than the light: for their works were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works may not be rebuked. But he who does truth comes toward the light, so that his works may be made visible, since they are done in God.
